Mortgage Field Inspector – Independent Contractor
Northern Ohio Field Services, Inc. (NOFS) is actively seeking experienced, dependable, and motivated Mortgage Field Inspectors to join our growing nationwide network of independent contractors.
For more than 20 years, NOFS has provided reliable field inspection services to the mortgage and default servicing industry. As our coverage needs continue to grow, we are looking for qualified inspectors who understand the importance of accuracy, communication, timeliness, and professionalism.
The Opportunity
As an independent contractor, you will have the opportunity to perform mortgage field inspections within your selected coverage area. Assignments may include occupancy verification, property condition inspections, photo documentation, and other field-based services for properties in your territory.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced mortgage field inspectors, property preservation professionals, insurance inspectors, real estate professionals, or independent contractors looking to expand their service offerings.
Typical Responsibilities
Complete mortgage field inspections and occupancy verification assignments
Inspect and document property conditions
Capture clear, accurate, and complete property photographs
Verify property occupancy and report visible conditions
Submit inspection results and required documentation through designated systems
Maintain reliable communication regarding assignment status and coverage availability
Complete accepted assignments accurately and within required timeframes
What We're Looking For
The ideal contractor is:
Experienced in mortgage field inspections, property inspections, occupancy inspections, insurance inspections, or similar field services
Familiar with photographing and documenting residential properties
Comfortable working independently and managing a service territory
Detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills
Able to use a smartphone or tablet to complete and submit assignments
Dependable, professional, and responsive
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous mortgage field inspection experience
Experience with occupancy, condition, or default servicing inspections
Active industry background credentials or certifications, when applicable
Existing coverage in one or more counties or surrounding areas
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout your selected service territory
