Winterization draining all plumbing, heating systems or any other areas of the
property that contain water that can potentially freeze and cause damage.
• If you need to use air pressure to clean out the system, this is acceptable, as too is the
use of antifreeze. However, only use these measures if you believe they are imperative to
preventing water from freezing and causing damage.
• Check the regulations and legal requirements that are in force in the area in which
you operate and ensure that you perform winterization activities in accordance with these.
• Take “before” and “after” photographs to document the process. Make sure you date
each image and include the address of the property at which it was taken.
